Podium finish for Proceed-sponsored driver Henry Joslyn
Henry Joslyn ends rookie GT season with Portimão podium
What a way to finish. Henry Joslyn, the young British driver Proceed Group is proud to support, closed his first season of GT racing with a podium at Portimão in the final rounds of the GT4 European Series.
Portimão was only Henry’s second event with Elite Motorsport, having joined the team at Zandvoort. Sharing the #77 McLaren Artura GT4 with Yani Stevenheydens, he looked at home straight away, with the pair inside the top eight in both practice sessions. Qualifying went well too. Yani set the fourth fastest time for race one, the best of the Silver Cup entries, and Henry matched that in his session to put the car on row two for Sunday as well.
Yani started Saturday’s race and moved up to second during a busy first half hour that included a safety car and full course caution. Henry took over at the halfway point and rejoined in second. When racing resumed after another caution, he got the jump on teammate Ravi Ramyead to take the lead.
He was pulling away from the other McLaren, but Jay Mo Härtling’s Mercedes caught him and made a move up the inside at turn one with five minutes left. A late caution then meant the race finished behind the safety car, so Henry didn’t get the chance to fight back. He and Yani finished second.
In Sunday’s race, Henry started from the second row, kept out of trouble on the opening lap and ran a steady fourth before handing over to Yani. Unfortunately, a pit lane speeding penalty meant an extra trip through the pits and the pair dropped to eleventh at the finish. Without it, another strong result looked likely.
Henry started karting at eight and went on to represent the UK in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy in 2022. He moved into car racing in 2023 as the youngest driver in the Ginetta Junior Championship, winning four races the following year, before taking seven podiums in his first British F4 season in 2025.
In 2026 he stepped up to GT4, starting the year with Toyota Gazoo Racing Sweden and winning a race in the Italian GT4 Series, before joining Elite Motorsport for the last two rounds. He finished the season 13th in the standings.
“Portimão was a really positive way to end the season, and to secure another podium finish is fantastic on my second weekend with the McLaren,” said Henry. “The team did an amazing job with the car and our pace was really strong throughout, which allowed us to come away with P2 from the opening race.”
“I think it’s fair to say that my first season of GT racing has had its ups and downs, but I have been able to learn a huge amount that is only going to help me as my career progresses.”
“My focus now is on 2027 and I’m already looking forward to what next year has to offer,” he added.
Proceed Group’s CEO, Nick Parkin, has a passion for motorsport and supports a number of young drivers, including Henry, as they develop their careers. He commented: “It’s been great seeing Henry progress this season and on the podium for the last outing of the season. I can see some great things for Henry next season and carrying on with his career.”
