The challenge:
Following several divestments, OCI needed a dependable way to retain and access historical business data for legal, tax, audit, and ongoing business needs. The organisation had previously worked across multiple SAP ECC systems before moving to S/4HANA on SAP Private Cloud in 2021 and later transitioned to S/4HANA Public Cloud. This left records split across both their former S/4HANA Private Cloud system and their remaining ECC systems, all of which needed to be kept securely and in line with compliance obligations.
A key part of this requirement was finding a solution that would lower cost by removing the need to maintain legacy systems and their ongoing licences. SAP Netherlands recommended Proceed Cella Cloud, which aligned well with OCI’s need for long term access to their data without maintaining old systems.
The solution: Proceed Cella Cloud
Proceed Group worked closely with OCI to shape a clear and structured approach to decommissioning and data retention using Proceed Cella Cloud.
Actions taken:
- All legacy data from the S/4HANA production system and company code specific data from the ECC systems was extracted and migrated into Proceed Cella
- Alongside the standard reporting available, additional custom reports were defined and created to support OCI’s teams across varied geographies and culture
- A 5 year retention model was set up within Proceed Cella to support compliance
The impact
With their legacy data now hosted and managed in Proceed Cella Cloud, OCI has a stable and compliant solution in place. The organisation no longer needs to maintain legacy SAP systems, which has removed both cost and complexity. OCI confirmed that the savings achieved were significant, making the move to Proceed Cella Cloud a straightforward business choice.
